Steel tapes

Steel tapes

Steel tapes and coated steel tapes are highly versatile materials used across many industrial sectors due to their excellent strength, durability, magnetic properties, and processability. Functional coatings such as EAA (ethylene acrylic acid) add enhanced features like corrosion resistance, thermal stability, and improved adhesion.

Typical Application Areas

  • Cable Industry (e.g. Power and Fiber Optic Cables): Steel tapes, especially EAA-coated versions, are used as mechanical protection and rodent barriers in energy and communication cables. They provide strong resistance to compression, tension, and external mechanical impact.

  • Home Appliance Industry: Coated steel tapes are used for housings, reinforcements, and structural components in appliances, where corrosion resistance, mechanical stability, and surface finish are important.

  • Radiator/Heating Industry: Steel tapes are processed into panels and convection fins for radiators. Coatings help prevent corrosion and enable easy downstream processing such as painting or forming.

  • Automotive Industry: Steel tapes are used in structural parts, body components, and heat shields. Coated versions offer improved weldability, corrosion protection, and long-term durability.

  • Packaging Industry: Steel tapes are used in strapping systems and reinforced packaging solutions, especially where high tensile strength and dimensional stability are required.

  • Profile and Tube Industry: Steel tapes are used in the production of cold-formed profiles and welded tubes. Coatings like EAA improve formability, enhance corrosion resistance, and support welding or joining processes.
